Pray For New Orleans

Sommer Kelly • January 2, 2025

Hi ladies it's me again and happy Tuesday! I can't believe we're in day 7 of the year 2025! I know right? I hope and pray that each of you ladies and your families are doing well. Well this blog is going to be a bit dark and the title I have for this blog is called "Pray For New Orleans". Why? I didn't find this out until New Year's Day when I was about to eat dinner and head towards the last day of my godfather's conference that I read an article about a shooting that took place in Louisiana! As most of us know the people of New Orleans have suffered a lot in rescent years and have suffered two hurricanes one last year called 'Hurricane Francine" and the most known is 2005's "Hurricane Katrina!" To make matters worse the shooting took place on New Year's Eve! As I've done more research the person who shot i believe was an Arab American with a black Isis flag leading some including the FBI to believe it was a terrorist attack! Sound familiar? We had a terrorist attack about 24 years ago during 9/11 2001! It's believed that this man shot and killed about 15 people while many other precious people have been severely injured. It is so sad for any of this to happen at anytime of the year but it's especially true when it has to be close to a holiday. It seems like when one is at the brink of something new that's always when an attack occurs. Ladies I believe that this act is not only tragic but also a demonic attack just because we're at the brink of something new. Gospel artist and pastor Marvin Sapp had that in his song "Close" in 2017. Ladies let's pray over this situation. Pray for those who lost loved ones during the shooting that God will comfort them and if they don't know Christ as Lord and Savior that they'll come to Christ in the midst of tragedy. Pray for those who are injured for God to heal them and preserve them. If the suspect is still living to pray he'll turn himself in, take responsibility for his actions, and perhaps repent to God and humanity for this wicked thing he has done. Pray he'll think about what he has done and pray that God will change his heart. We also need to pleat the blood of Jesus and pray Psalm 91 over ourselves and loved ones especially with so much shootings going on. Let's also pray that the demonic stronghold of murder to stop in our country. As many of you ladies know that we've encountered many mass shootings over the years and I believe that America needs to repent for murder! That's what I wanted to share with you ladies. Blessings, have a blessed week, let's not only pray for the people of New Orleans but pray that the murder stronghold to be broken from our country too!

Hi ladies it's me again and happy Tuesday! I hope and pray that each of you ladies and your families are doing well. I'm happy to present another blog called "The Purpose Of My Christ-Centered Kid/Teen Program". You might be thinking what's this all about? Well the blogs before the blog about the Wisconsin flood, I wrote about my upcoming women's ministry training that I'm seeking to launch this fall. I wrote both part 1 and part 2 about it and this is something else I'm also seeking to launch this fall as well too. What's the name of my program? It's called "Young Live Art Center" and the website is called youngliveartcenteronline.com and it's for young people ages preschool through high school and the purpose is to have a virtual, faith based, and art based program to encourage young people in their faith, art, make friends, and be who God has called for them to be. Another important point is it's challenging finding after school programs out there in person or virtual that are faith based. Most after school programs in person and virtual are secular based. I'm not trying to talk down on them but I'm making a point. Kids and teens need to be in a environment that encourages their faith not discourages it. That's one point I want to make. Another important point I need to make is it's essential for God's people to spiritually and practically support their brothers and sisters in Christ with businesses they start. I believe this one is well worth the investment because it's impacting the next generation. I do hope and pray that in the future to have both a virtual and in person building but having a building isn't cheap renting or owning is why it's all virtual (Zoom and Google Meet) for now. If you have kids, teens, grandkids nieces or nephews preschool age and older and you're looking for something fun for them to do I'd highly encourage y'all to enroll them in this and continue to pray for this. Also the fall is around the corner so if you know a parent in your family, community, or church that's looking for something like this, give them my number, email, and send them the website link youngliveartcenteronline.com for information how to get them enrolled and such. Also if you're a Christian lady looking for maybe going back to school or want extra training, reach out to me as well too. My goal is to grow my kid and teen program with students and have my women's ministry training with students too for this fall since I believe this is what God has called me to do. Blessings, happy Tuesday, have a blessed week, and don't hesitate to reach out to me for questions of enrollment for this program. Blessings.

Hi ladies it's me again and happy Lord's day! I hope and pray that each of you ladies and your families are doing well. The title that I have for this blog is called "Pray For Wisconsin". Why am I writing about this? For those of you who may or may not be aware on August 9th through August 10th bad flooding hit Wisconsin! This is worst flood we've had since 2010! You might be thinking "What happened in 2010?" Well me and my sister were teenagers then, my brother was ten years old, and mom was a homeschool mom then (it was during Summer vacation and we were off school) and we were at home watching TV when suddenly it began to rain. Ever heard the old saying go. "When it rains it pours?" Well that's what happened. I'm not sure if dad had to work or was at music practice at church but it was the four of us at home in 2010 and we headed towards the basement to get the water out. The reason was because we knew if we didn't get the water out we'd lose valuable things especially dad's equipment and we know that music equipment like guitars and amps are not cheap and not easy to replace. It took the four of us taking turns doing our best to get as much water out of the basement as we could and although we lost rugs (rugs can easily be replaced) we by the grace of God didn't lose valuable materials. But sadly some people did lose valuable things during the 2010 flood similar to what happened this year in 2025. Also side note, 2010 was also the same year that a horrible flood hit Nashville, Tennessee too and many country artists and a few Contemporary Christian artists lived there and sadly some lost equipment during that time too. 2010 was the year of bad flooding for both Wisconsin and Nashville, Tennessee! Fast forward to fifteen years later and now we're in the year 2025 and flooding has hit again. Of course we know that bad flooding hit the people of Texas and it got so bad that some kids got washed away in the flood! That's so tragic and it was all over the news! Now it's Wisconsin's turn that got hit with bad flooding August 9th through August 10th where many people's basement (including ours) got flooded really really badly. Not only that, the small church on the North side of Milwaukee I've been attending since 2020 (yes that's right they did allow me to go where only ten people could attend at one time in person) called "New Life Assembly Of God Church" on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights (I've been a member there since 2021 and I've departed from "Discover Church" though I do visit for various events that fit my schedule such as weddings, graduation parties, musicals, Thanksgiving Eve service etc) service was cancelled but me and one of the deacons and deacons wife had to clean out as much water from the churches basement as possible! It was a lot of work but by the grace of God even though various boxes got wet the stuff on the inside didn't get wet! By the grace of God, "New Life Assembly Of God Church" didn't lose microphones or equipment and neither did my dad in the midst of the flood! But again sadly similar to the flood that happened in 2010, some people did lose significant things in this 2025 flood too. Another thing I can't forget to mention is unlike the 2010 flood, the electricity got affected and me, my folks, and our neighbors power was out for ten hours and I had to get out of my virtual Bible study early that Sunday night because we had no light! My mom had to light several candles in the house and my dad and I had to use our cellphones as flash lights to see until the electricity got back on at 10:30 at night! The flood was bad enough but to lose electricity was absolutely no joke! I sent messages on text and fb messenger for Christians who were family and friends to pray for us especially for the electricity to come back on which was very scary. By the grace of God the powers back on but there still is significant damage. As I said many people lost various items such as mattresses, music equipment, (especially musicians) and some people's cars got affected among other things! One of the deacons at church lost electricity and when he had his flashlight on, he heard water trickle from his kitchen to the basement and he saw water all in his yard too! That's how bad it got! Whether you live in Wisconsin or out of state your prayers would be appreciated during this time. I know some folks in upper Wisconsin weren't affected by that but many people were. It's time for us in the body of Christ especially to pray for folks affected by this flood for God to meet their needs for God to restore what they have lost. Pray for the people to have favor with insurance companies to help them get what they need and pray if it rains that it doesn't flood! Of course most of all pray for people who were affected by this flood who don't know Christ as Lord and Savior to get saved for the first time or those who are prodigals (folks who once walked with Christ but drifted away from Him) to come back to Him. I'll be praying about this in my virtual prayer meetings as well too in addition to praying for the missionaries, pastors, sick, our President, revival for America etc. That's what I wanted to share with you ladies. Blessings, happy Lord's day, have a good week, and continue to pray for the people in Wisconsin affected by the flood to recover!

My Women's Ministry Training Part 2.
By Sommer Kelly August 12, 2025
Hi ladies it's me again and happy Lord's day! I hope and pray that each of you ladies and your families are doing well. I'm happy to present another blog called "My Women's Ministry Training". You might be thinking "So what? What's the big deal. Well first of all let me say that the title of this ministry is called "Women's Warriors Academy" that's been exiting for the past four years since 2021. If you go on the about us part it reveals details about the ministry. Anyhow the past four years we have Bible study which takes place Sunday nights, prayer meetings, blogs, (like this) a website, (that you're on right now) and a Facebook group. But the Lord laid on my heart to start a training that coincides with the ministry. I want the ministry to continue to grow and another way for it to grow is to start a virtual training on weekdays. Also on the website there's a tab called "Women's Warriors Bible College" tab where it shows where you can register for a couple of courses. The other thing is why a women's training? Well because I don't have a team of regular people in ministry! The only team person I have is the Holy Spirit as well as website holders that help me with this website! But apart from the Lord and website holders helping me, I don't have a "regular team" to lead as of right now. I also see the value of education as well too since the training will also be educational. The purpose of the women's training is to train Christian women called to either join the "Women's Warriors" team or become a women's ministry director at a regular church. One course is the Associates degree where women taking that course have to be eighteen years old or older, have a high school diploma or GED, and have a desire to be in ministry. The book they will need is "People Of The Spirit" book and there will be homework questions, quizzes, and tests for that and that will start two days after Labor Day and it will be for two semesters. The second course will be the GED course that will take place the day after Labor Day and it will be for those who dropped out of high school to gain credits in taking Bible courses like "Bible Doctrines", "The Spirit Empowered Leader" as well as regular course work too. The purpose of the GED is to prepare students to be qualified to enter the Associates degree level because in order to take that course they'll need to have a high school diploma or GED to take it. Along with there being education requirements there's spiritual requirements as well. I'm looking for women eighteen and older who are God-fearing women, hard working women, humble, teachable, Spirit-led women, women of the Word, consistent women, women of character, and women who feel a sincere call to ministry. Of course they'll have a choice to either join the "Women's Warriors" team or become a women's ministry director at a regular church when they're done. (Side note maybe next year I'll add a bachelor's degree level as well that can replace the GED part.) The deadline to register for these classes will be August 31st the day before Labor Day so I would encourage y'all to talk to me about this as soon as possible and such. This is something I've been earnestly praying about and seeking the Lord about it and I'm counting on women who will respond to this and I'm determined to obey God and do what He tells me to do. Go on the "Women's Warriors Bible College" tab where you will find how to sign up for the GED portion and the Associates degree portion of it. Hurry because the deadline to sign up is August 31st the day before Labor Day and I want to know who will be able to take the courses and such. I'll be teaching the "People Of The Spirit" on certain days and I'll be teaching the GED course on separate days and I'll be teaching either on fb messenger or Zoom. I'll be teaching those classes before teaching my after school program classes. (That's for another blog the after school program part.) Side note I've done my research and there is no other Bible training in Wisconsin that's for women only whether in person or virtual! If I were y'all whether you're a newer Christian, been a Christian for awhile, newer to my Bible study and prayer meeting or been coming for several years, I'd encourage y'all to sign up or share this with other Christian women as well too. I want to make it easier not harder for Christian women to get in the ministry and help this ministry to grow or be a women's ministry director at a regular church. I believe that in the last days, God will not only raise up male leaders in ministry but God will raise up women leaders that will grow the local church and impact the lost for the cause of Christ to work together with men leaders. This women's ministry training will train Christian women called to be pastors, prophetess, and teachers of the Word of God and it's racially diverse, age diverse, (be as young as eighteen all the way up to sixties age and older) status diverse, (Married, single, divorced, widowed, divorced and remarried, and widowed and remarried.) and is interdenominational. (That means regardless of what church denomination you're in such as "Assembly Of God Church", "Church Of God In Christ Church", "Baptist", etc as long as you're saved, living for Christ, and got the Holy Ghost is all that counts.) If you want to continually be a attendee for the Bible study on Sunday nights and prayer meetings on Tuesday nights (occasionally meet on Mondays if need be) and not be part of the training is fine. These courses are for those who sense a call of ministry and who want to go beyond being just an attendee. That's what I wanted to share with you ladies. Blessings, happy Lord's day, check out the Women's Warriors Bible College tab to sign up for the courses, and have a blessed week everyone.

Hi ladies it's me again and happy Tuesday! I hope and pray that each of you ladies and your families are doing well. I'm happy to present another blog called "My First Solo Traveling Experience". I'll share with y'all what I did August 2nd through August 4th. Let me say this I was part of a prayer conference from July 30th through August 3rd 2025. My godfather hosted it both on Zoom and in person. I wanted to make five nights in person but instead I had to make it the last two nights Saturday and Sunday and watch Wednesday through Friday on Zoom! (Others joined the prayer conference on Zoom and joined in person too.) I wanted to make the prayer conference in person and let me tell you what I did. My parents dropped me off at the "Milwaukee Intermodal Station" 6:10 in the morning, left Milwaukee 6:30 AM on a Saturday morning and didn't make it up North 6 PM at night! I was stuck at the bus station for almost two hours until Uber took me to my godfather's remaining prayer conference. (I mentioned at a previous blog that we celebrated my godfather's birthday the last night though he didn't forget to pray.) While there I took a shuttle to get around so I could Uber less and the people there were so friendly. It was so great to see my godfather and his colleagues there and they were happy and I got lots of hugs! My godfather was very happy too and I was happy to see him happy! I also got to have wonderful roommates as well too. I took the Greyhound bus to get to my destination there and had to take Greyhound bus back to Milwaukee. On Monday morning, one of my godfather's colleagues offered to drop me off at the bus station so I wouldn't have to Uber there! This was my first trip ever never going with family or friends. Well one friend stayed in town, another friend was at a tournament in another state, and my parents had training for whatever else. Plus I hadn't left the state in six years since traveling to California on a missions trip in 2019! God knew this was the trip that I needed as well and I sensed God's presence there. I plan to head back there after Christmas this year! I hope to go with friends this time but if not, I know can either fly or take the Greyhound bus. I know for a single female traveling solo whether on bus or airplane can be risky or scary. But I'm happy to say that God protected me and helped me every step of the way. This challenged me out of my comfort zone but isn't that what we have to do sometimes get out of our comfort zone? This will be a trip I'll never forget and something I'll remember forever and by the grace of God it didn't rain either! By the grace of God there were no car accidents which is something that I'm thankful for knowing how crazy drivers often drive! That's what I wanted to share with you ladies about my wonderful traveling adventure from August 2nd until August 4th 2025. That's why I wasn't at my home church "New Life Assembly Of God Church" and didn't lead Bible study Sunday night because of the prayer conference. Blessings to each of you ladies and have a blessed week everyone.

Hi ladies it's me again and happy Lord's day! I hope and pray that each of you ladies and your families are doing well. I'm happy to present another blog called "My First Live Conference I Attended Out Of State". Some of you may not know I was gone for the weekend at a conference out of state. Actually the conference was also featured on Zoom and I watched the first three nights on Zoom but the last two nights I attended in person. What was the purpose of the conference to witness God's healing power but the other part of the conference was to pray for America! Of course we all know that America desperately needs prayer. Man when I, the speaker, (my godfather) and the audience started praying it's like the atmosphere exploded! There's nothing sweeter to see God's people gathering together to pray earnestly and in the Spirit to see God move in our country that needs revival. Here's something else. On the last day we got to have a great meal, honor the speaker (my godfather's) birthday and we still had time of prayer and worship. There were folks watching on Zoom too. (Sunday morning was regular service which was why I was absent from my home church "New Life Assembly Of God Church" and there was no Bible study Sunday night.) In another blog I'll share about the journey of me getting there in person and the craziness I dealt with. It was great to see friends out of state in person that I hadn't seen in years and there were lots of smiles and hugs and got to make new friends too. I wanted to make all five days in person but it didn't happen and I wanted to take a plane but had to take Greyhound bus instead. But it was worth it and it's the first time I've been out of state since 2019 a year before Covid when I took my last missions trip to California. i plan to take vacation December 29th through January 1st 2026 which I can't wait for another event that my godfather is hosting. That's what I wanted to share with you ladies. This is the first vacation I've been to in a long time. Blessings, happy Lord's day, and have a blessed week everyone.

Hi ladies and happy Tuesday! I hope and pray that each of you ladies and your families are doing well. I'm happy to present another blog called "Debrah Inspired By Amy Grant". You may wonder who is Amy Grant? Well Amy was born in 1960 the youngest of four daughters to her late Christian parents Bill and Gloria and lived in Nashville, Tennessee. Just side note she's not at all related to Natalie Grant who's born in 1971 and is the youngest of five kids and was born and raised in Seattle, Washington. (Side note I wrote blogs honoring Natalie Grant.) Anyway Amy grew up singing hymns in church but she didn't get saved until her early teens in 1973 at "Belmont Church". She began writing songs and playing acoustic guitar shortly after getting saved. Amy swept floors at a recording studio and made a demo tape specifically for her parents. Well Brown Bannister (father of Contemporary Christian artist Ellie Holcomb) played her demo tape for Christian record deal with Word records and called her late at night about it. Amy's dad got upset for being on the phone too late having no idea that Brown called offering Amy a record deal and was signed to Word records for over thirty years prior to her signing with Sparrow records! (Side note Sparrow records is also a Christian record deal.) Well Amy in 1977 released her self-titled debut album, 1978 finished high school, went to college, in 1979 released "My Father's Eyes" and in 1980 released "Never Alone". Amy eventually dropped out of college and her first three albums did well but it wasn't until 1982 "Age To Age" is when she became popular and known for her signature song "El Shaddai" where she won first Grammy award. Also in 1982 she got married to her boyfriend and Christian artist Gary Chapman and had three kids Matthew born in 1987, Gloria Mills nickname "Millie" in 1989, and Sarah born in 1992. Also throughout the 1980s, Amy released more albums, won Dove, and Grammy awards and became known as a Contemporary Christian artist. But in the 1990s things changed and released her 1991 album "Heart In Motion" and it was a pop album not a "Christian album". Her hit single was "Baby Baby" causing acceptance for the mainstream world but backlash in the Christian music industry. She continued to release more pop albums while also dealing with troubles in her first marriage to Gary Chapman. Gary for a season battled with alcohol and drug addiction but God helped him through it and there were other issues going on too. In 1999, Amy faced another backlash on her getting divorced from Gary Chapman and started dating friend and country artist Vince Gill (also a divorced parent) shortly after. In 2000, Amy and Vince got married while Gary married his second wife Jenny. (They later divorced in 2007 and in 2008 married Cassie and adopted a daughter later on.) Amy's three kids didn't like Vince at first but grew to like him overtime which are the challenges of a blended family. In 2001, Amy and Vince had their daughter Corinna which brought unity in their blended family and inspired her to go back to her gospel roots. In 2002, Amy marked her 25th anniversary in the music industry and released "Legacy, Hymns, & Faith" as a sign she returned back to doing Contemporary Christian music and has released several albums since then. Amy's kids (including Corrina) and her stepdaughter Jenny are adults and many of them are married with kids making Amy and Vince grandparents! What does that have to do with Debrah? Well Debrah grew up singing hymns in church, plays acoustic guitar, is a alto, lived in Nashville, Tennessee, a household name, won Dove and Grammy awards like Amy Grant. Debrah's first husband was a Christian musician but sadly had troubles in her first marriage that sadly led to divorce and eventually getting remarried which resulted in a blended family as well. When Debrah remarried it was to an old friend similar to Amy. Debrah also has had a long career in the Contemporary Christian music world and is a loving grandmother as well too. What are their differences? Amy was born in 1960 and has brown hair and Debrah was born in 1972 and has blond hair. Amy was born in Nashville Tennessee, while Debrah was born in Springfield Missouri. Amy's the youngest of four daughters while Debrah is the oldest of two daughters. Debrah was a pastor's kid and came from a lineage of pastors and though Amy's late parents were Christians they were never pastors. Amy's parents are in heaven while Debrah's parents are still living. Amy became a Contemporary Christian artist as a teenager while Debrah didn't become one until after college. Amy dropped out of college while Debrah attended "Evangel University" (freshman and sophomore year in college) and "Belmont University" (her junior and senior year in college) and graduated from college. Amy did mainstream music while Debrah stayed true to Contemporary Christian music. Amy has always been a solo artist while Debrah was in a couple of bands before being a solo artist. Amy has kids from her first marriage while Debrah had infertility struggles from her first marriage and couldn't have biological kids in her previous marriage. Amy's first and second marriage were to white men while Pastor Rudy Debrah's second husband is black. That's what I wanted to share with you ladies. If you haven't gotten my Debrah book go on Amazon to get it. Blessings to each of you ladies and have a blessed week everyone.

Hi ladies it's me again and happy Lord's day! I hope and pray that each of you ladies and your families are doing well. I'm happy to present another blog called "Debrah Story Inspired By Cece Winans". You might think who is Cece Winans? Well she was born Priscilla Marie Winans, number seven out of ten kids, and the oldest of three daughters! That means that Cece has six older brothers! Wow what a big household! Cece would be Priscilla's nickname from that moment on but she and her siblings were born in Detroit, Michigan. In addition to that, most of all they grew up in a Christian home and got saved at a young age and were only allowed to listen to gospel music! In addition to them being raised in a Christian home and saved at a young age, they also were a musical family too. In fact in the 1980s, Cece's four older brothers signed with Light records with legendary the late gospel artist Andrea Crouch and became known as "The Winans"! (Side note Marvin Winans Sr was part of that and he later became pastor at "Perfecting Faith Church", became solo artist, and for a time was married to Vickie Winans before their divorce. Vickie Winans is a gospel artist too.) Yes that's right Cece Winans is the younger sister of "The Winans" band. After Cece finished high school, she and her brother Bebe (real name Benjamin) joined PTL Heritage USA under Jim Bakker and his late first wife Tammy Faye. (Side note the Bakkers ministry got started in 1974 before everything collapsed in 1987.) Cece and Bebe at PTL were employees there, were they learned to become a musical duo, and get to know white people and they were there from 1981 until 1984. It was in 1983, that Cece met Alvin Love a new Christian and Xerox worker and they fell madly in love. Of course they prayed about it and sought counsel about them dating. After Cece left PTL in 1984, (three years before the ministry collapsed in 1987) she got engaged and married to Alvin, and moved back to Michigan. Cece and Alvin also had two kids Alvin 3 born in 1985 Ashley born in 1987. Eventually Bebe and Cece got signed to Sparrow records and became a musical duo in the late 1980s! They'd release their self-titled debut album, "Heaven", their Christmas album to name a few. They'd be a musical duo for the next several years until the Lord revealed to Cece it was time for her to be a solo artist. In 1995, Cece released her solo debut album called "Alone In His Presence" and has remained a solo artist and has released multiple albums as well. Years later, in 2012 Cece and Alvin became co-pastors at a church called "Nashville Life Church" and their son is associate pastor there. They also have grandkids and Alvin is Cece's manager. Cece has won awards such as Dove, Stellar, and Grammy awards just to name a few. What does this have to do with Debrah? Debrah and Cece Winans have been singing since they were kids and got saved at young ages too. Well like Cece, Debrah was part of a musical duo called "Debrah And David Harris" for a number of years and eventually became a solo artist. They're household names, won Dove and Grammy awards, and they and their husbands are pastors of churches. They have their independent record deals (they previously were signed to major record deals) and they're doting grandmother's as well. They also have lived in Nashville, Tennessee for a number of years, married to black men, and their husbands are their managers. Cece's siblings and extended family members are musical, similarly , Debrah's sister and brother -in-law as well as extended family members who are professional singers too. What are the differences? Cece is black while Debrah is white. Cece lived in Michigan while Debrah was born and raised in Springfield, Missouri in her growing up years. Debrah has a younger sister while Cece has two younger sisters and has six older brothers. Debrah was a pastor's kid and came from a lineage of pastors while Cece though raised in a Christian home parents weren't pastors. Cece and Bebe were a brother and sister musical duo while Debrah and David her first husband was a husband and wife musical duo. Cece both in a musical duo and as a solo artist is a black gospel artist while Debrah in bands or as a solo artist is a Contemporary Christian artist. After Cece in 1995 became a solo artist was still married to her husband Alvin while when she Debrah became a solo artist she was divorced for her first husband due to adultery. Cece was in her thirties when she became a solo artist while Debrah became a solo artist in her forties. Cece Winans has been married to her husband for over forty years while Debrah has been divorced and remarried. Cece has two biological adult kids while Debrah gained step kids (she struggled with infertility struggles during her first marriage) and raised her step kids with her second husband Pastor Rudy Carson Sr. Also if you haven't gotten my Debrah book I'd highly encourage you to get it on Amazon or I can order physical copies for you ladies if need be. Debrah is inspired by real life Contemporary Christian artists and gospel artists and I'd encourage y'all to check out the soundtrack too. That's what I wanted to share with you ladies. Blessings to each of you ladies, have a happy Lord's day, and hope y'all have a blessed week.
By Sommer Kelly July 24, 2025
Hi ladies it's me again and hope y'all are doing well. I'm happy to present another blog called "My Character Debrah Inspired By Natalie Grant". You may wonder who in the world is Natalie Grant? Well she was born in 1971, in Seattle, Washington, and the youngest of five kids in her family. She has three older sisters and one older brother and was raised in a Christian home as well. Her dad worked a regular job while her mom like a lot of white women back then were "house wives". Side note she's not related to Amy Grant even though their last names are the same. (Amy is the youngest of four daughters, has different sets of parents who are now in heaven, and grew up in the South.) Natalie got saved at young age, sang in church all her life, and even was a FAF (Fine Arts Festival) participant in the Assemblies of God denomination! After graduating from high school she attended a Christian college called "Northwest College" to study to be a school teacher where she also met her first boyfriend. She and in fell in love and even got engaged even though there were signs they shouldn't have been together. Her boyfriend was controlling, didn't like when she got attention for her voice, and compared her to other women. In fact her boyfriend contributed to her bullimia problem as well too. One day a Contemporary Christian music group called "Truth" (they were a secret band from 1971 until their disbanded in 2001.) sang at her church and her dad encouraged her to audition for the band. Well she did and made it and broke up with her fiance shortly after that. Natalie also dropped out of college to join "Truth" and toured with the band for the next two years across the country which was how she got her start in Contemporary Christian music. In 1997, she met Bernie Herms a Christian, Canadian, pastors kid, and piano player who helped her audition for a record deal with Benson records. She got signed the record deal, they became friends, the next year they dated, and in 1999 they got married! Bernie also became her producer, her spiritual covering, and her biggest cheerleader unlike the previous guy she was with. Natalie Grant in 1999 released her self titled solo debut album and has been a solo artist since then. Her major successful project became when she released her 2005 album called "Awaken" which was inspired by her witnessing a human trafficking incident in 2004 motivated her to be involved with that and release music to reveal that. Then Natalie became a "household name" because of "Awaken" with songs like"Held" and"What Are You Waiting For " but privately she and Bernie struggled with infertility because doctors didn't give her hope having kids. In 2006 Natalie used IVF to get pregnant and in 2007 had twin daughters Gracie and Isabella who likely graduated from high school this year! Then in 2010, Natalie "unexpectedly got pregnant" with Sadie and after the release of her 2010 album "Love Revolution" Sadie was born. But Natalie suffered from PPD (Post Patrum Depression) but with Christian counseling, medical help, and her faith she overcame that. Also Natalie Grant founded "Hope For Justice" to help girls and women in the United States and overseas to get restored after being human trafficking. What does this have to do with my character Debrah? Debrah is blond like Natalie Grant and both got saved young. They both grew up in the Assemblies Of God denomination and were FAF (Fine Arts Festival) participants. They both struggled with bullimia and both in college dated guys who tried to pressure them to be something other than themselves. They both auditioned for Contemporary Christian music bands in 1994 and Debrah joined fictional Christian music band called "The Tribe Of Issachar" and was there for three years. Her and Natalie joined their sextet bands after breaking up with their boyfriends. They both lived in Nashville, Tennessee, won Dove awards, were "household names", and both became solo artists. They both also dealt with infertility struggles and dealt with depression. They both work for organizations to fight against human trafficking and both have written books. They both also work closely with their husbands and have three kids. Differences is Natalie though she grew up in a Christian home her dad worked a regular job and her mom was a house wife while Debrah was a pastor's kid and came from a family lineage of pastors. Natalie was born in 1971, the youngest of five kids and born and raised in Seattle, Washington while Debrah was born in 1972, had one younger sister, and was born and raised in Springfield, Missouri. Natalie attended one Christian college "Northwest College" while Debrah attended two different Christian colleges such as "Evangel University" (her freshman and sophomore year in college) while attending "Belmont University" her junior and senior year in college. Natalie struggled with bullimia in college while Debrah struggled with bullimia when she was fourteen until she was eighteen years old. Natalie's boyfriend in college contributed to her bullimia struggle while the popular girls in high school contributed to her bullimia problem. Natalie dropped out of college to join the Christian music band "Truth" while Debrah graduated from "Belmont University" and then joined Christian music band "The Tribe Of Issachar". "Truth" was a band from 1971 until 2001 while "The Tribe Of Issachar" was a band from 1972 until 2004. Natalie has a soprano and doesn't play guitar while Debrah is a contralto range and plays acoustic guitar. Natalie Grant didn't move to Nashville, Tennessee until 1997 while Debrah moved to Nashville, Tennessee when she was still in college. Also Natalie Grant became a solo artist after she married Bernie while after Debrah married her first husband David Harris, she joined a musical duo band and after her divorce became a solo artist. Natalie Grant is still married to her husband Bernie while Debrah sadly experienced divorce and remarriage. Natalie and Bernie are the same race, (Bernie technically Canadian) Debrah and David were the same race when they were married before their divorce but Debrah's second marriage was to a black man making them an interracial marriage. (David Harris second wife Diana was Hispanic /billingual making them an interracial couple.) Though Natalie had infertility struggles, she was able to conceive her twins by IVF and later conceived Sadie while Debrah couldn't have kids from her first marriage and adopted kids through her second marriage to Pastor Rudy Carson. Natalie's husband is her producer and piano player while Debrah's first husband David was her singing partner/pastor and Debrah's second husband Rudy Sr, pastors with her, is her studio engineer and manager as a solo artist. Natalie has three daughters while Debrah has two stepsons and a stepdaughter. Debrah is a young grandma while Natalie doesn't have grandkids yet because her twin daughters likely finished high school. So if you haven't gotten my Debrah book I'd encourage you to get it on Amazon and I wanted to share with y'all why Debrah is written the way she is. There's still a couple of Christian artists she's inspired like and I can't wait to share about that. That's what I wanted to share with you ladies. Blessings to you ladies and your families and have a blessed week in the Lord.

Hi ladies it's me again and happy Lord's day! I hope and pray that each of you ladies and your families are doing well. I'm happy to present another blog and it's called "My Time At Church Sunday Morning". I'm not writing about what happened today at church July 27th but what happened July 20th last week Sunday morning. It was a wonderful time at church today but I want to talk about what happened last week. Another side note I've been to three different churches in my entire life. I attended "Capital Christian Center" church when I was a baby until I was eight years old, I attended "Discover Church" (formerly "Oak Creek Assembly Of God Church") when I was nine years old until I was 26 years old and was a member there for seven years. (Side note that's where I got saved at eleven years old and received the baptism in the Holy Ghost at eighteen years old. Also Sunday night service used to be a regular thing shapes the way I do regular Sunday night Bible study. ) I've been attending "New Life Assembly Of God Church" since Covid and have been a member there for the past four years. What "Capital Christian Center", (now called"Mercy Memorial Church") "Discover Church ", and "New Life Assembly Of God Church" have in common is their services Sunday morning and Wednesday nights and they believe in the Holy Ghost! Anyhow that's not the point of the blog though. Someone from church who I love dearly gave me a ride to church and we enjoyed Sunday school. Well it was praise and worship after Sunday school and the worship leaders were singing as was the congregation. Normally when worship leaders lead worship words pop up on the screen. Well that didn't happen because there was something wrong with the computer system while praise and worship was going on! Well two deacons worked ruthlessly to try to fix it then another new member in church (who also leads worship sometimes) also tried to help but nothing worked! (Side note thankfully the songs the worship leaders were singing were songs most people in the congregation knew very well and people were still engaged in praise and worship including me.) Well there was a guest minister that arrived and could sense that something was wrong. He walked back to try to help the two deacons and new member from church to fix the problem still to no avail. But then the worship leaders announced they're going to sing "I'm Gonna See A Victory" and as soon as the words left their mouths, the lyrics popped up on the screen just in time! Wow! I couldn't believe it! I don't know if that happened to show that God has a sense of humor or to prove He cares about the things we care about! Well then it was time eventually for the guest minister to speak whose name is Pastor Stretch Antonio Bowen. Well he preached and the Holy Ghost was evident while he was talking. (Side note he was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin but moved to a different state.) Then after awhile it was time for prayer at the altar and this is the main point of the blog. Well he prayed for each person at the altar one at a time (including me thank you very much) and it was a powerful time of prayer. I learned really quick that he was a man of prayer something I absolutely love about a godly leader. But then there was a godly older lady who needed prayer and I walked over to pray for her. (I do know who she is but won't disclose her name for confidentiality reasons.) Pastor Bowen walked over to where she was too but he did something very unusual. Now remember I've been to two different churches before "New Life Assembly Of God Church" that I mentioned "Capital Christian Center" and "Discover Church" and have had a number of pastors in my life who have prayed with me and others over the years so that wasn't new to me. However, Pastor Bowen grabbed the older ladies hand but then he grabbed my right hand and placed it on the older ladies chest! Now get this. I didn't know him very well nor did he know me and we didn't have a formal introduction to one another! (I could have met him on Saturday but I was busy and unable to attend and other restrictions restricted me from going.) I was shocked he did that but strangely me and Pastor Bowen had what I call a "Spirit to Spirit" connection. I like to call that the "Holy Ghost nod" when sense peace and confirmation from the Holy Ghost to do something. I also interpreted it him saying through his actions. "Let's join hands together and pray over this lady and see God work in her life." I learned other lessons from that and that is when the Holy Spirit moves, roll with Him and don't fight Him! Also Christians don't have to know each other very well in order to work together to get God's job done! Some Christians have the attitude of. "I don't know this person who's a Christian very well and I don't want to work with them." I don't believe that's good thinking and that can hinder relationships from forming with that mindset. I also learned that wrong mindsets, wrong actions, or wrong emotions can hinder God from moving the way He wants to. What I mean by that is if I had the attitude of, "Why would he grab my hand like that? Had he lost his mind? How dare he because I barely know him and he doesn't know me! He's so crazy!" Well thoughts like that could have disrupted the flow of the Holy Ghost and I had five seconds to respond right and roll with Pastor Bowen and roll with the Holy Ghost. Then service was over and before the congregation voted for a new leader I did introduce myself to Pastor Bowen and he was delighted to meet me and I could sense he was a nice guy. After Pastor Bowen left, we the congregation prayed and voted him to be the next senior pastor! Yep that is a Sunday morning I'll never forget and I shared that with my family members and with you ladies at the Bible study! I rarely talk about what happens Sunday morning but that shows how much of an impact it was. That's what I wanted to share with you ladies. Being in church is very important and as a Christian women's leader, I want y'all to know that I submit to a "spiritual covering" because a woman in ministry needs a "spiritual covering" over her. That's what I wanted to share with you ladies. Blessings to each of you ladies, happy Lord's day, and have a blessed week everyone.
