Women's History Month - Mother Teresa

HI ladies it's me again and hope y'all are doing well. I'm happy to be sharing another blog with y'all in honor of ''Women's History Month''. The next lady of faith I'm happy to write about today is none other than legendary ''Mother Theresa''. This precious lady was born in 1910 and died in 1997 at the age of 87 years old. She died 27 years ago! Another crazy thing about Mother Theresa was she wasn't born in America she was born in Europe and her given birth name was Mary Thersesa! She was the youngest in her family and her father sadly died when she was very young. But despite the challenges that she faced she committed herself to religious life when she was 12 years old and was fascinated with missionary stories. When she was 18 in 1928, she moved overseas to learn English with the ''Sisters Of Loreto''A year later she arrived in India in 1929 and called herself Theresa after legendary missionary Therese De Lisieux. She has felt it was very important for her to serve the poor and so she adopted Indian citizenship, did medical training, and helped the poor among the poor. Even though she barely had enough to feed herself, she was determined to help others! She later founded in 1950 ''MIssionaries Of Charity'' and would spend the rest of her life helping people in need. "Missionaries of Charity'' would open leprosy outreach, providing medication, and food supplies. Mother Theresa spoke several languages and her outreach reached many countries all over the world with the gospel and her humanitarian efforts. She has visited America and helped over 100 countries all over the world causing her to gain recognition! Mother Theresa never married or had children but she did greatly impact the world with adults and children similar to what Amy Carmichael did. She suffered a few heart attacks in her later years and died in 1997. But her legacy lives on may that motivates us to help people in need as well as share the gospel with them. There you have it ladies. I hope and pray that this blog inspired y'all blessings and have a blessed week everyone.
