Pharisee And Taxcollectors Prayer
Hi ladies it's me again and happy Lord's day! I hope and pray that each of you ladies and your families are doing well. I'm happy to present another blog on this Lord's day. I'll be presenting a blog called the "Pharisee And Taxcollectors Prayer". You can find it in Luke 18:9-14 where Christ shared how two men went to pray. One a Pharisee and the other a taxcollector. The Pharisee prayed but he boasted on how good he was. He boasted how he gave tithes and fasted and was better than the taxcollector! (PS nothing wrong with giving or fasting. Just don't be arrogant about it.) But the taxcollector wouldn't look up to heaven and said "God be merciful to me a sinner". Jesus concluded saying that the taxcollector went home justified and not the Pharisee. He who exalts himself will be humbled and he who humbled himself will be exalted. The bottom line is God is looking for humble hearts not prideful hearts. God wants our hearts to be sincere and broken before Him. The Bible also says there's none righteous no not one and our good deeds are filthy rags to God. Noone can boast that they can go to heaven on their own not even me! God wants people who recognize they are nothing apart from Him and realize that only He can them before and after salvation. I've been observing Jewish holiday "Roshannah" I just finished it and it's a time to let God change a person and such. No matter how long we've been walking with the Lord there's room for growth. Be humble like the taxcollector and don't be a Pharisee! That's what I wanted to share with you ladies. Blessings, happy Lord's day, and have a blessed week everyone.
