"People In The Bible Suffered Too

Hi ladies it's me again and happy Lord's day! I hope and pray that each of you ladies and your families are doing well. I'm happy to present another blog to you ladies called People In The Bible Suffered Too. Here I'm sharing this from chapter three of my book "Strength For Enduring Adversity". Here I discuss at least a couple of Bible characters who suffered. I share about Ruth and Naomi and Joseph in the Old Testament. For Ruth and Naomi I cover the different aspects of grief. Naomi lost a husband and sons and Ruth lost a father-in-law, husband, and brother-in-law. That's what psychologists call "complex grief" enduring multiple losses in a short time. Naomi who's name means "pleasant" asked to be called "Mara" after she returned home from Israel which means bitter. (Aka names back then represented identity.) But in the midst of loss God restored Naomi and Ruth. If course we all know that Ruth fell in love with Boaz, had a baby named Obed, and Boaz financially provided for Ruth and Naomi too. We all know the story of Joseph in the Old Testament. He had a dream his brothers got jealous sold him to slavery and had work for Potiphar's house. Then he got accused falsely and got incarcerated and also had to work for the prison warden too! He also interpreted the baker and cupbearers dreams. Later on Pharaoh had a dream and God helped Joseph to interpret it and Joseph became prime minister! Seven years of plenty go by and Joseph saved what he could and seven years later famine hit the land. Then his old father, brothers, (ones that betrayed and sold him) and their households (wives, kids, and grandkids if they had grandkids) bowed before him and asked for forgiveness! Wow! What a story! People in the Bible had their fair share of hardships and I pray it reminds us to know people in the Bible are human too. That's an encouragement to me as well and has helped me in my grieving process. That's what I wanted to share with y'all. If you haven't gotten my book yet I'd encourage you to "Strength For Enduring Adversity" on Amazon and share it with someone going through a storm. That's what I wanted to share with you. Blessings, happy Lord's day, and have a blessed week everyone.
