Natural and Spiritual Lessons To Learn During The Winter Season

Sommer Kelly • January 23, 2024

HI ladies it's me again and happy Lord's day. I hope and pray that each of y'all and your families are doing well. I feel the Lord is having me shift gears on topics now and the title for the blog is called ''Natural and Spiritual Lessons To Learn During The WInter Season''. I live in Wisconsin and many of you live here today (others may live in a different state or country that gets snow too!) and I believe this can help us keep things in perspective since we have another one or two for winter to endure. Number one the winter season can be an adverse season but we'll make it through it. In the ''natural winter season'' it often snows here in Wisconsin we get inches while other states like Alaska, New York, Minnesota just to name a few can get several feet of snow! In Wisconsin it also can get bitter cold like it did Dr King Jr week (January 14th all the way to my birthday January 21st) In the ''spiritual winter'' of the Christian life adversity is a way of life. In fact Jesus said in John 16;33 ''In this world you'll have trouble but take heart I have overcome the world''. How important it is to remember that in the natural and spiritual winter of our lives. Also natural and spiritual winter seasons of our lives help us to endure and have survival skills. That means in the natural winter, you have to dress ''appropriately;y'' for the weather, making sure your house and car have heat, making sure the snow is shoveled, that you wear hats, gloves, coats, and boats. If it's bitter cold (the teens and below) wearing extra layers. In the ''spiritual winter'' it's important for us to have survival skills as well too. The Bible says in Romans 8;37 says ''In Him we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us'' and Psalm 34;19 ''Many are the afflictions of the righteous but the Lord shall deliver them from them all.'' Winter season teaches how to endure and press on in the hard times of life. The winter season also gives us a time of rest both naturally and spiritually. We live in a ''go go go'' society where resting is hardly encouraged. Burnout is a real thing and that can happen to us if we're not careful. Learning to rest physically and spiritually is important and the winter seasons both naturally and spiritually is important. The ten commandments say keep the sabbath day holy, that's a command to take a day off to rest. And the last thing about winter is it prepares us for the next season. We know Spring happens after winter both naturally and spiritually. Spring is a time for new life and a time of renewal after an adverse time. That's what I wanted to share with y'all and hope and pray that this blog will encourage y'all especially since the natural winter season isn't over yet and if you're in a ''spiritual winter'' I pray it encourages you to press into God and community, stand on God's promises, and learning to rest during this time. Blessings, happy Lord's day, and have a nice week everyone.

Hi ladies it's me again and happy Lord's day! I hope and pray that each of you ladies and your families are doing well. I'm happy to present another blog and it's called "My Time At Church Sunday Morning". I'm not writing about what happened today at church July 27th but what happened July 20th last week Sunday morning. It was a wonderful time at church today but I want to talk about what happened last week. Another side note I've been to three different churches in my entire life. I attended "Capital Christian Center" church when I was a baby until I was eight years old, I attended "Discover Church" (formerly "Oak Creek Assembly Of God Church") when I was nine years old until I was 26 years old and was a member there for seven years. (Side note that's where I got saved at eleven years old and received the baptism in the Holy Ghost at eighteen years old. Also Sunday night service used to be a regular thing shapes the way I do regular Sunday night Bible study. ) I've been attending "New Life Assembly Of God Church" since Covid and have been a member there for the past four years. What "Capital Christian Center", (now called"Mercy Memorial Church") "Discover Church ", and "New Life Assembly Of God Church" have in common is their services Sunday morning and Wednesday nights and they believe in the Holy Ghost! Anyhow that's not the point of the blog though. Someone from church who I love dearly gave me a ride to church and we enjoyed Sunday school. Well it was praise and worship after Sunday school and the worship leaders were singing as was the congregation. Normally when worship leaders lead worship words pop up on the screen. Well that didn't happen because there was something wrong with the computer system while praise and worship was going on! Well two deacons worked ruthlessly to try to fix it then another new member in church (who also leads worship sometimes) also tried to help but nothing worked! (Side note thankfully the songs the worship leaders were singing were songs most people in the congregation knew very well and people were still engaged in praise and worship including me.) Well there was a guest minister that arrived and could sense that something was wrong. He walked back to try to help the two deacons and new member from church to fix the problem still to no avail. But then the worship leaders announced they're going to sing "I'm Gonna See A Victory" and as soon as the words left their mouths, the lyrics popped up on the screen just in time! Wow! I couldn't believe it! I don't know if that happened to show that God has a sense of humor or to prove He cares about the things we care about! Well then it was time eventually for the guest minister to speak whose name is Pastor Stretch Antonio Bowen. Well he preached and the Holy Ghost was evident while he was talking. (Side note he was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin but moved to a different state.) Then after awhile it was time for prayer at the altar and this is the main point of the blog. Well he prayed for each person at the altar one at a time (including me thank you very much) and it was a powerful time of prayer. I learned really quick that he was a man of prayer something I absolutely love about a godly leader. But then there was a godly older lady who needed prayer and I walked over to pray for her. (I do know who she is but won't disclose her name for confidentiality reasons.) Pastor Bowen walked over to where she was too but he did something very unusual. Now remember I've been to two different churches before "New Life Assembly Of God Church" that I mentioned "Capital Christian Center" and "Discover Church" and have had a number of pastors in my life who have prayed with me and others over the years so that wasn't new to me. However, Pastor Bowen grabbed the older ladies hand but then he grabbed my right hand and placed it on the older ladies chest! Now get this. I didn't know him very well nor did he know me and we didn't have a formal introduction to one another! (I could have met him on Saturday but I was busy and unable to attend and other restrictions restricted me from going.) I was shocked he did that but strangely me and Pastor Bowen had what I call a "Spirit to Spirit" connection. I like to call that the "Holy Ghost nod" when sense peace and confirmation from the Holy Ghost to do something. I also interpreted it him saying through his actions. "Let's join hands together and pray over this lady and see God work in her life." I learned other lessons from that and that is when the Holy Spirit moves, roll with Him and don't fight Him! Also Christians don't have to know each other very well in order to work together to get God's job done! Some Christians have the attitude of. "I don't know this person who's a Christian very well and I don't want to work with them." I don't believe that's good thinking and that can hinder relationships from forming with that mindset. I also learned that wrong mindsets, wrong actions, or wrong emotions can hinder God from moving the way He wants to. What I mean by that is if I had the attitude of, "Why would he grab my hand like that? Had he lost his mind? How dare he because I barely know him and he doesn't know me! He's so crazy!" Well thoughts like that could have disrupted the flow of the Holy Ghost and I had five seconds to respond right and roll with Pastor Bowen and roll with the Holy Ghost. Then service was over and before the congregation voted for a new leader I did introduce myself to Pastor Bowen and he was delighted to meet me and I could sense he was a nice guy. After Pastor Bowen left, we the congregation prayed and voted him to be the next senior pastor! Yep that is a Sunday morning I'll never forget and I shared that with my family members and with you ladies at the Bible study! I rarely talk about what happens Sunday morning but that shows how much of an impact it was. That's what I wanted to share with you ladies. Being in church is very important and as a Christian women's leader, I want y'all to know that I submit to a "spiritual covering" because a woman in ministry needs a "spiritual covering" over her. That's what I wanted to share with you ladies. Blessings to each of you ladies, happy Lord's day, and have a blessed week everyone.

Hi ladies it's me again and happy Tuesday! I hope and pray that each of you ladies and your families are doing well. I'm happy to present another blog to y'all and it's called "The Beauty And Challenges Of Being A Pastor's Kid". I'm writing this blog for a number of reasons. First of all to let y'all know that pastor's kids are human just like us and deserve to be loved like any other kid. The fact is a lot of pastor's kids get or feel a lot of pressure from lots of people in and outside of the church. They meaning people in the congregation or outsiders of the church expect pastor's kids to sometimes be "perfect" which we know that's not possible. The only perfect individual is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The other thing that pastor's kids deal with is they're expected to be like their parents especially their dad. That's a lot for anyone especially pastor's kids to deal with. I want to share some names and examples of pastor's kids some names you may recognize and some names may surprise you. Here we go. Pop singers and actresses the Simpson sisters, (Jessica and Ashlee) known pop band The Jonas Brothers, (Kevin, Joe, and Nick) the late R&B artist Marvin Gaye, the late "Queen Of Soul" Aretha Franklin, the late Dr Martin Luther King Jr, Tasha Cobbs-Leonard, (gospel artist, business woman, and pastor) well known gospel artist Kierra Sheard, (daughter of Karen Clark-Sheard, niece of "The Clark Sisters," and granddaughter of the late Mattie-Moss Clark) gospel artist Tye Tribbet, Christian actress Erin Bethea, (she starred in "Fireproof") pastor, gospel artist, and actor Deitrick Haddon, (I wrote a previous blog about him) his second wife Pastor Dominique, Deitrick's ex-wife Damita (I wrote a blog about her) her second husband Reuben Chandler, former Christian artist now pop artist Katy Perry, as well as the protagonist Debrah Carson, her ex-husband Pastor David Harris, his second wife Pastor Diana and their kids as well too. (Side note Pastor Rudy Carson Sr Debrah's second husband didn't become a pastor until he was in his forties and his parents Pastor Henry and Pastor Sabrina didn't become pastors until they retired from their jobs when they were in their sixties. They were all adults when they got into the ministry.) Wow what a list and there's even more than that! These people I mentioned many of these names you may recognize and be surprised they are pastor's kids. The bottom line is they need love, grace, and understanding as do the rest of us. Isn't that what we all need don't we? Pastor's kids may deal with "church hurt" because of maybe how they saw people treat their parents in a horrible way in gossip or saw a "church split" which unfortunately happens more often than not. They may cause pastor's kids to question who they are, question God, and sadly cause them to pull away from God and church because of that. Perhaps some pastor's kids may have also grown up in a very legalistic church environment which may have affected them. Maybe they weren't encouraged to do sports, watch movies, listen to secular music, (side note secular music isn't wrong just be discerning what you listen to) not wear makeup or jewelry, women not allowed to wear pants just to name some examples. That can cause pastor's kids to not want anything to do with God possibly too. Most of all pastor's kids need their own relationship with the Lord which is the most important thing. We've all heard the old saying, "Going to church doesn't make you a Christian anymore than going to a garage make you a car". While many that I mentioned do have a relationship with the Lord some of them don't. Some of them are "prodigals" and it's important to pray that the Lord will woo them back to Him so they may live for Him. Just think if that was your kids, grandkids, nieces or nephews how you'd want people to pray for them so be in prayer for them. Of course there's pastor's kids who had positive experiences as a pastor's kid like the case of my character Debrah who's parents loved her and her sister Meleana and raised them to love the Lord and the church. Debrah herself grew up to be an associate pastor, Contemporary Christian artist, and author and her sister followed similar suit. Bottom line pray for pastor's kids as will I because they need it. That's what I wanted to share with you ladies. Blessings to each of you ladies and have a blessed week everyone.

Hi ladies it's me again and happy Lord's day! I hope and pray that each of you ladies and your families are doing well. The title of the blog is "Debrah Inspired By Deitrick Haddon". You might think who in the world is Deitrick Haddon? Well I'll give you some facts about him. He was born in 1973 in Detroit, Michigan to a Christian lady named Joyce and her first husband and he has a brother Gerald maybe twelve months younger than him. Unfortunately when Deitrick was two years old and Gerald was one years old (in 1975) is when their parents divorced. It's believed that Joyce's first husband was abusive and needed to get out and fell in love with another Christian man named Clarence Haddon. In 1976, Joyce got remarried to her current husband who's known as Bishop Clarence Haddon and Bishop Haddon adopted Joyce's then three year old Deitrick and two year old son Gerald. Bishop Clarence raised his stepsons as his own, has been a faithful husband to his wife Joyce, and has been a role model in the church and leader in the community. Both Deitrick and Gerald were raised as "p.k.'s" (pastors kids) and y'all can fill in the blank what life is like as that. They both got saved young and sang in church from a very young age. When Deitrick was 11 (in 1984) he preached his first sermon and at 13 (1986) he directed his youth choir! Wow what a prodigy! He as a teenager formed different gospel groups and tried to get a record deal but that fell through. When he was a young adult he turned down a couple of secular record deals that would cause him to compromise on his faith. He had some setbacks but it would be the Lord developing him more and more. Also at fifteen years old in 1988 he met his first wife seventeen year old Damita Bass who herself was a strong Christian, a good singer, grew up a pastor's kid, and in Detroit, Michigan and started dating! I don't know if they attended the same church or high school but they met and fell in love and dated for a total seven long years! In 1994 when Deitrick was 21 years old he signed with gospel label Tyscot records as did the "Voices Of Unity" is when Deitrick's then girlfriend Damita was in along with others. (Side note mentioned in a different blog I mentioned that Damita was in a girl gospel group called "Adoration N Prayze" before joining the "Voices Of Unity".) In 1995, Deitrick and the "Voices Of Unity" released their debut album "Come Into This House" and that established Deitrick as a gospel artist. The following year in 1996, he and his longtime girlfriend Damita finally got engaged and married when they were 23 and 25 years old! Deitrick and the "Voices Of Unity" recorded a few more albums together prior to him becoming a solo artist in 2002 with his album "Lost And Found" and Damita later became a solo artist too. They both also were youth pastors at different churches including at Pastor Paula White's church for two years from 1998 until 2000 and even had Bishop Clarence Haddon's Church before being co-pastors later on. Eventually Deitrick and Damita became more known in the gospel music industry but with that came with challenges. Damita suffered from infertility which complicated things and in 2011 Deitrick released an album called "Church On The Moon". After that album was released Deitrick made choices that brought severe consequences to himself his Christian walk, his marriage, and ministry. At choir practice he met a Christian, pastors kid, an educated woman eleven years his junior named Dominique Mctyer at a Bishop friends church in California. After that encounter the two of them fell in love, likely got pregnant, and had a long distance relationship. Well in June 2011, Damita's mom died and went to heaven but Deitrick who should have comforted Damita ran off with Dominique because he found out she was pregnant! Damita remained in Michigan and at the church for awhile until she relocated to Atlanta, Georgia while Deitrick remained in California. Deitrick and Damita were separated for a year and two months until their divorce was final in August 2012. During Deitrick's separation from Damita he had a daughter named Dustin in early 2012 with Dominique which received a ton of controversy. Deitrick was 39 when his divorce was final and when he became a father while Damita was 41 and Dominique was 28 years old during that time. In the summer of 2012, Damita released her third solo album called "Anticipation" and in December 2012, Deitrick and Dominique got engaged! In 2013, 40 year old Deitrick released another album, started "Hill City Church", and started in reality t.v. series called "Preachers Of L.A.". That same year he and 29 year old Dominique got pregnant with second child and got married while 42 year old Damita reunited and fell in love at a picnic with old Christian friend, divorcee, and photographer Reuben Chandler! In 2014, 41 year old Deitrick and 30 year old Dominique had second child Denver while 43 year old Damita got engaged and eventually remarried to Reuben Chandler! How does this relate to Debrah my latest book? Well David Debrah's second boyfriend and first husband has a story like Deitrick Haddon. David was born in 1974 and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota and grew up a pastors kid, got saved young and sang in church all his life. (David has a twin brother Gabriel while Deitrick's brother Gerald is twelve months younger.) He preached a sermon young and attempted to get signed a record deal three times but those record deals fell through. Also David Harris got engaged and married to his first wife the protagonist Debrah Schwark when he was 23 while she was 25 years old and they were married for sixteen years prior to their divorce. David was a youth pastor before becoming senior pastor like Deitrick Haddon and Debrah was a music pastor and youth pastor like Damita was. Both Debrah and first husband David were "household names" in the Christian music industry similarly to Deitrick and his first wife Damita and both couples struggled with infertility struggles. Year 15 to Debrah and David's marriage, is when "City On A Hill" was released and Deitrick's album "Church On The Moon" was released. Also year fifteen in both David and Deitrick's first marriages is when both committed infidelity and got young women pregnant eleven years their junior! David got a Christian, Hispanic /bilingual, pastors kid, a virgin, and nurse Diana Toledo pregnant while Deitrick got Dominique pregnant. David moved to Texas while Deitrick moved to California and separated from their first wives while Debrah moved to Orlando, Florida while Damita relocated to Atlanta, Georgia. (David had another affair with Christian, Asian American, and former church administrator Yvette but broke it off and she later dated and married another man two years later!) That caused for David to resign his senior pastor position similarly to Deitrick Haddon causing for Debrah and Damita their former first wives to do the same. David and Diana had their daughter Angela out of wedlock similar to Deitrick and Damita did with Dustin and David divorced Debrah while Deitrick divorced Damita. Debrah became a solo artist and author similarly to Damita released her third solo album "Anticipation" while David and Diana got engaged similarly to Deitrick and Dominique got engaged. As at 40 David and 29 year old Diana got married similarly to Deitrick and Dominique got married, Debrah and Rudy started dating after several months of being friends similarly to Damita and Reuben dating. (They reunited as friends in summer of 2013 and work on staff at the same church and worked together in the Christian music industry. They knew each other from 1998 until 2000 but didn't see each other again until 2013.) David also became a solo artist, author, and started "Journey Of Grace" similarly to Deitrick released another album, started his church, and starred in t.v. series "Preachers Of LA". Several months to David and Diana they had their second child a daughter Diamond similarly to Deitrick and Dominique's second child Denver while Debrah and Rudy got engaged and eventually remarried similarly to Damita and Reuben Chandler who got engaged and eventually remarried. Differences between David and Deitrick? David is white while Deitrick is black and David's parents who raised him are his biological parents while Deitrick was raised by his mom and stepdad. David did Contemporary Christian music and lived in Nashville, Tennessee while Deitrick was in the black gospel music industry and lived in Detroit, Michigan, in Tampa, Florida, and eventually Atlanta, Georgia. Of course David's first wife Debrah is white and Damita Deitrick's first wife was black and David and Debrah dated a year before getting married while Deitrick and Damita dated for several years prior to marriage. Also Debrah and David were a musical duo their entire marriage while Deitrick and Damita were in the "Voices Of Unity" for a time before becoming solo artists while married. Debrah was in a Christian band for men and women prior to marriage to David and Damita was in a all girl's gospel group called "Adoration N Prayze" prior to joining the "Voices Of Unity". Both Debrah's grandpas died and went to heaven and her parents were still living while Damita's mom died and went to heaven prior to Debrah and Damita separating from their husbands. David had two affairs while Deitrick had one and David and Debrah's divorce happened in April while Deitrick and Damita's divorce happened in August. David and Diana dated shortly after his divorce from Debrah then in December got engaged while Deitrick dated Dominique the entire separation and divorce from Damita prior to their engagement. Debrah and Rudy reunited in 2013 like Damita and Reuben but the difference is Debrah and Rudy reunited at a church service while Damita and Reuben reunited at a picnic. When Debrah and Rudy reunited after not seeing each other for thirteen years they rekindled their friendship while Damita and Reuben fell madly in love with other. Also in 1998 until 2000, Debrah and David knew Rudy and Valentina and met at a church in Tennessee similarly Damita and Deitrick knew Reuben and his first wife in Florida during those years. Differences were Rudy was unmarried and Valentina was a young childless widow (she was married from 1994 until 1997 when she was 22 until 25 to Enrique a Christian and veteran who died in 1997) and they didn't get married until 2000 while Reuben and his first wife were year five to year seven in their marriage when they knew Damita and Deitrick.David never "trash-talked" Debrah on social media nor did he blame her and was respectful and cordial towards Debrah during their separation and divorce as Deitrick unfortunately did the opposite to Damita who trash talked her the entire separation and divorce process. Also David didn't get addicted to alcohol ever while Deitrick for a short time got addicted to alcohol until God snapped him out of it. David and Diana truly repented for their sin and allowed their drastic fall to humble them while it's unknown if Deitrick and Dominique truly repented or not. David and his second wife Diana and Debrah and her second husband Rudy are interracial couples David being white and Diana being Hispanic while Debrah is white and Rudy is black. On the contrast Deitrick and Dominique and Damita and Reuben are black couples. Rudy was a young widowed father for a couple years prior to remarrying while Reuben was divorced for six years prior to him dating and marrying Damita. Debrah and Rudy "blended a family" while entering their second marriage and eventually had grandkids when the kids were adults while it's unknown whether or not Reuben Chandler had kids from his first marriage or not. In 2017 David and Diana had their youngest child David Jr two years after birth of their second child while Deitrick and Dominique had their son Deitrick Jr in 2015 a year to the birth of second child. Before the birth of Dominique's son Deitrick Jr her mom died and went to heaven while Diana's parents lived on. Also Debrah as a solo artist released more albums and won more awards than her ex-husband David Harris while in real life, Deitrick Haddon released more albums and won more awards than his ex-wife Damita Chandler. Debrah and David reconciled as friends not lovers while it's not known whether or not Damita and Deitrick are truly friends. I know this blog was longer than normal but felt I needed to explain who Debrah's first husband was inspired from. I hope that it motivates y'all to get my Debrah book as well as praying for people in the spotlight as well too. Blessings, happy Lord's day, and have a blessed week everyone.

Hi ladies it's me again and happy Tuesday! I hope and pray that each of you ladies and your families are doing well. The title of this blog is a bit darker though and the title I have is ''Pray For Victims Of The Texas Flood''. I'm sure many of you ladies know that I'm very well informed of issues that occur around the world and I know that last year I wrote several blogs about people and places that were victims of various hurricanes. Well in this blog instead of blogging about a hurricane I'm blogging about what took place in the Texas flood. According to the news at least 60 adults and the death of 36 kids which bless the hearts of their parents. They believe there are still 173 lives missing which I can imagine the shock of what those families are. Texas went through a hurricane this past year and now a year later they have to deal with the devastating loss of a flood! To make even sad matters this took place at a summer camp where it impacted many students and adults. I believe more than ever before we need to pray for God's hedge of protection to be upon kids and teachers who are involved with summer camps to pray that God will keep them safe. It's essential to pray for the victims of this flood number one to pray for those loved ones who are living who have lost loved ones during the flood. Pray number one that they turn to God and not get bitter at God and pray they'll get help during this time. It's also important to pray for those that are still missing that they will be found as well as praying for the remaining safety should the folks return to camp. Perhaps it's during times like this that people often need to think about how short life is and how long eternity is not that I'm at all minimizing these victims' pain by no means since I've been through loss myself. Believe me loss is painful and grief is no joke since there are stages of grief. The point I'm making is it's in the midst of loss one can either turn to God or away from God. Let's join hands together and pray for the people of Texas for God to comfort them as well as also pray for philanthropists who are on the ground such as ''Convoy Of Hope'' and ''Convey Of Miracles'' that are getting supplies ready to help those precious victims recover after such a devastating loss. Pray that God will use ''Convoy Of Hope'' and ''Convey Of Miracles'' to get the food and supplies and other resources to not only meet people's natural needs to meet their spiritual needs too. That's what I wanted to share with you ladies. Blessings to each of you ladies and your families and have a blessed week everyone.

Hi ladies it's me again and happy Lord's day! I hope and pray that each of you ladies and your families are doing well. The title of my blog is called "Debrah Story Dedicated To Damita Chandler". You might be thinking there's no connection between my fictional character has no connection with a real character. In this blog I'm gonna prove y'all wrong and show there's connections and differences between characters. Damita Chandler was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, born in 1971, and is a identical twin! She was born into a musical and raised as a pastors kid! (Sound familiar?) Well she sang at a young age with her twin sister and gave their lives to Christ at a young age. But get this ladies. In 1988 when she was about seventeen years old, she met another Christian, teenager, pastors kid, and gifted singer named Deitrick Haddon! (Side note Deitrick was also born and raised in Detroit, Michigan but was born in 1973 and grew up in a similar household as Damita.) Damita and Deitrick dated for a total of seven years from 1988 until 1995 and didn't get engaged and married until 1996! Wow! As they continued to date, Damita graduated from high school and joined gospel stage play called "Mama Do" and toured with R&B and gospel artists. After that she sang backup vocals for other artists prior to her, her twin sister Marguita, and a couple other gals who created a group called "Adoration N Prayze". They auditioned and sang at a birthday party and got signed to a record deal! How wild is that? They later released one album and began to gain notoriety in the gospel music industry as well as impact lives for the gospel of Christ. Eventually the band disbanded and Damita joined with her then boyfriend Deitrick and they had a choir called "Voices Of Unity" and in 1994 signed a record deal with Tyscot records. Then a year later in 1995, Deitrick and the "Voices Of Unity" released their debut album called "Come Into This House" and Damita became a minister of music at Deitrick's parents church. By that time their relationship became serious enough that in 1996 they got engaged and married and were married for sixteen years until they divorced in 2012. Eventually the "Voices Of Unity" disbanded but Damita and Deitrick became solo artists while married and became household names. They toured together and pastored at different churches as associates before co-pastoring Deitrick's stepdad's church Bishop Clarence. Also Damita and Deitrick had infertility struggles so they were unable to have children which would cause problems down the line in their marriage. Deitrick released several solo albums while Damita only had a couple of albums while they were married and things drastically changed in 2011. Fifteen years to Damita and Deitrick's marriage, Deitrick released "Church On The Moon" which was successful but behind closed doors there was a affair that began to unravel. Damita didn't know about the affair until after her mom died and went to heaven that Deitrick who should have comforted her abandoned her and his church to be with the woman he had an affair with! (Deitrick moved to Los Angeles, California while Damita moved back to Atlanta, Georgia.) Damita stepped down from the church and she and Deitrick were separated for a year and two months prior to their divorce in August 2012! In 2012 Damita released another album called "Anticipation" while Deitrick started a family with the lady he had an affair with! The following year in 2013 Deitrick got engaged and remarried to a woman named Dominique, started a church in California, started in "Preachers Of LA" show, and released another album. That was the same year that Damita reunited with a old friend of her and Deitrick named Reuben Chandler. Reuben was a US veteran later turned minister and was married to his first wife from 1993 until their divorce in 2007. Reuben and his first wife met Damita and Deitrick in 1998 at Pastor Paula White's church. Reuben was married for five years and Damita married for two years when they met and they and their spouses were good friends. But in 2000, Damita and Deitrick year four in their marriage left that church to move to Atlanta, Georgia and eventually move back to Detroit, Michigan while Reuben and his first wife remained on staff there until their divorce in 2007. Reuben eventually moved to Alabama and continued life as a photographer and would be divorced for six years prior to reuniting with Damita in 2013! They met at a family picnic in June 2013 and had a long distance courtship that lasted for five months from June through November 2013. None of them were looking for love but it happened simultaneously and in December Reuben asked Damita's dad to marry her and they got engaged. When Deitrick enjoyed his new marriage and second child in 2014, Damita announced her engagement and she married Reuben in May 2014! Pastor and gospel artist Donnie Mcclurkin officiated the wedding and it was beautiful to see two divorcees reunite and promise to be loyal to each other for the rest of their lives. Wow! You might be thinking what does this have to do with my Debrah story? Well Debrah was raised a pastor's kid, sang in church, and got saved young. She was in a six member Dove award Contemporary Christian group called "The Tribe Of Issachar" before getting married and like Damita she got married at 25 to her first husband David Harris! (Deitrick Haddon and David were 23 years old when they married their first wives!) Debrah and David were a musical duo from 1998 until 2012 and were married for sixteen years like Damita and Deitrick were prior to their divorce. Debrah and David were household names, pastored, and had issues with infertility similar to Damita and Deitrick. Year fifteen in Debrah's first marriage, they released their last album "City On A Hill" similar to Deitrick Haddon's "Church On The Moon". Also David committed infidelity that forced him to step down from being senior pastor and replaced by his friend Pastor Darryl Hayes to be senior pastor. Debrah joined her parents church in Florida on staff for the remainder of the story while David relocated to Texas and was on staff at his parents church for only two years. While separated Debrah learned that David got a young woman pregnant whose child was due the same year of their divorce! The same year of Debrah and David's divorce, Debrah became a solo artist and a author. Debrah also reunited at her parents church an old friend she knew thirteen to fifteen years ago a Christian black guy named Rudy Carson Sr. He knew her and David from 1998 until 2000 and they knew Valentina a young childless Christian widow. (She was married to Enrique from 1994 until 1997 until he died as a soldier and Christian on battlefield and went to heaven!) In 2000 after Rudy and Valentina got married, (Debrah and David sang at their wedding) they moved to Michigan, attended a different church, and had three kids together two sons and a daughter. While there Valentina was diagnosed with cancer and Rudy and folks did their best to help her deal with it, (medicine, chemotherapy, hospital stays, and prayers) and attended Bible college. But in 2012, Valentina at forty years old died of cancer and went to heaven reunited with her first husband and worshipped the Lord in heaven. A year after that, Rudy finished Bible college along with his folks, moved to Florida, and reunited as friends! Rudy quit his engineering job to be associate pastor, studio engineer, and Debrah's manager! (His parents quit their jobs to be associate pastors and helped raise his kids.) The following year, David got engaged and remarried to Diana, left his folks church, and started his own. (Someone else replaced him as associate pastor.) He became a solo artist, author, and Diana quit regular job to be associate pastor, life coach, and his manager. Debrah and Rudy friendship became romantic and the following year they got engaged and remarried as well as blended a family. (David and Diana would also have their second child that same year!) Later in the story Debrah and David rekindled their friendship and did a reunion concert at the end! I know this blog was a bit long but that's where I got the idea to do Debrah's story. I'll be sharing more about that this month and the following month. Blessings, happy Lord's day, and have a blessed week everyone.

Hi ladies it's me again and hope y'all are doing well. I'm happy to present another blog and it's called "My Testimony Album"! Okay you may think so what? Well my music teacher Lena Vinz encouraged me to try a couple of things such as Suno and Landr. Suno is an electronic way of recording music and Landr is where you can download songs and distribute them! Well I prayed about it and also did my research and found out most traditional recording studios cost a lot alot of money maybe $200 or more! (Side note there are recording studios in Milwaukee and studios that are in New York City, New York, Nashville, Tennessee, and LA, California I imagine prices are enormous compared to Milwaukee's! I'm just keeping it real!) I also hadn't made a musical project in thirteen years because when I was eighteen I made a three song "E.P" and shortly after that graduated from being homeschooIed from high school in 2012. (My sister graduated from high school from being homeschooIed in 2014 while my brother graduated from high school from public school in 2018.) After high school, I focused on growing my walk with the Lord, (still my goal to this day) college, (first DSOM later Matc) jobs, learning guitar, and other things that making music was out of the loop. (I also used to want to move to Nashville, Tennessee and LA, California but God as well as life has other plans and has to redirect my life.) Then that's why I recorded on Suno and submitted it to Landr! I had to get the right artwork as well too. The album has thirteen songs and do you ladies remember the Debrah book? Well those thirteen songs on "My Testimony" album are for the Debrah book! As y'all can see a beautiful blond lady playing guitar and her story walks into her faith journey, musical journey, and even her romance and difficult journey! Each of those songs on the album dedicated to it and if any of you know about "High school Musical", "The Greatest Showman", "The Wizard Of Oz" etc those are musical movies! Also I had to research which song lyrics to use and I found out that older songs like most old hymns ("Amazing Grace", "It Is Well With My Soul", "Jesus Loves Me" etc) and certain Christmas carols ("Joy To The World ", "What Child Is This ", "Silent Night " etc) are in the public domain and you can use them without worrying about copy wright issues. I could have chosen that route or write my own songs. God gave me various songs to write and some of my favorites are "New Day ", "I Can See Clearer Now ", and "This Hard World". If you haven't checked out the album yet you can check it out on YouTube (I have two different ones) or download it on various music apps! You can check it out at the store for this website! (I plan to do play some of the songs on my acoustic guitar in the future on my other YouTube channel. ) Any support and prayers would be appreciated for that and if you haven't gotten the Debrah book yet, you can check it out on the store app or on Amazon. I may order physical copies in the future and do another book signing hopefully before the end of the year. Side note if you get the book the cover in there is different because I had to change the cover three times before Landr approved it long story! Anyhow regardless of an image issue in order to understand the album getting the Debrah book will help though you can get the album apart from the book. This won't be my first nor last time making a Christian "musical novel" because there's more to come and I'm brainstorming what I want my future Christian novels to be! My goal is to make Christian novels interesting, not boring, relatable to "real world" issues, as well as keeping the gospel of Christ the center of it all. That's what I wanted to share with you ladies. Blessings, check out the album and the Debrah book, and have a blessed week in the Lord.

Hi ladies it's me again and happy Lord's day! I hope and pray that each of you ladies had a good fourth of July with family and friends and got to watch the fireworks this past Friday. The title I have for this blog is ''Pray For America And Israel''. Here's the thing. I made a video on youtube about this very issue last week I believe but I feel it's important to address it again through blog form. We know first and foremost America needs revival because she's a ''prodigal nation'' who drifted away from the Lord. That's the most important thing to pray for America is that revival comes back to this country so that America can be a nation under God. Another thing to pray for in America is her leaders especially politicians. Unfortunately there's alot of corrupt politicians and it's important number one to pray for their salvation, number two to make wise and just laws, and to be servant leaders. Another thing is to pray for our American troops and their families for their protection. Another component is to pray that strongholds of sexual perversion, (homosexuality, pornoagraphy, promiscuity, and adultery) murder, consumerism, atheism etc would be broken off from our country. We also need to pray for protection against America's enemies (especially the Russians and Chinese) and pray that she continues to stand with Israel. Why pray for Israel? The Bible tells us to and Genesis 12 God promised Abraham He'll bless those who bless Israel and curse those who curse Israel. It's important to pray number one for Israel's salvation for them to know Jesus as Lord, Savior, and Messiah. Many of the Jews in Jesus' day rejected Him and the Bible says in John 1 His own received Him not. That's the most important thing to pray for. The other thing is to pray that Israel's enemies attacking her will repent, stop attacking her, and give their lives to Christ. You don't touch God's anointed and the ''apple of God's eye''! You don't ever do that! Israel's enemies are in trouble and I pray that they repent before time because they don't want to come under God's judgment. It's also important to pray that America and Israel continue to be each other's friend and stand with one another. Listen, I don't believe it's a coincidence that America and Israel are friends. Why,you say? Number one both nations were founded on biblical principles and were established to be nations under God. Israel's patriarchs are Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob while our American forefathers are the Pilgrims and many of our early American Presidents! Both nations have been used to bring the gospel to the world but sadly both of them have drifted away from the Lord and there are consequences for doing that. Perhaps in the midst of this dark time hopefully can cause a stir in Christians to pray for both nations as I've been doing for quite awhile. I urge and beg you Christians regardless of what you think about Israel, join me and pray for her. I know many of you pray for America and we need to keep praying for our country! America desperately needs intercessors to cover her in prayer because without prayer nothing happens. Prayer is the key to revival and I'm afraid that the American Church as a whole doesn't pray as much as she should! That's a big problem! If we don't pray God won't move. We're waiting on God but God is waiting on us to cooperate with Him. Let's pray for both of these nations especially to be preserved from war, to be preserved spiritually, and pray for future generations to be perceived. I know this blog is a bit ''heavier'' than my previous blogs but I feel it's too urgent not to mention. That's what I wanted to share with you ladies. Blessings, happy Lord's day, and have a blessed week everyone.

Hi ladies it's me again and happy Tuesday! I hope and pray that each of you ladies and your families are doing well. I'm happy to present another blog called "Happy Independence Day!" You maybe thinking what's that about? Well ladies today is July 1st and the fourth of July will be in three days and wanted to make a blog in honor of that. Listen God has been good to America despite our nations ups and downs. From the moment our Pilgrim ancestors left England because of the English king oppressed them came to establish this country on biblical principles. When the Pilgrims came out country grew to have thirteen colonies that eventually would become fifty states! America been through the Civil war in the 1800s, World War 1 and 2, Korean War, and Vietnam War and have been through economic disasters such as "The Great Depression" in the 1930s, "The Recession" of 2008, and Covid and dealt with racism but through it all God has kept us. America is unique because though 70 percent of Americans are white there are other racial cultures that live here such as blacks, Hispanics, Asians, and Arabs. I believe another reason why God's been good to America is we've been kind to Israel since 1948 and God blessed nations who bless Israel. This is a land of freedom of speech, freedom to pursue your dreams, and live for God without fear. I know many of us are looking forward to a day off work, getting to spend time with loved ones, go on vacation, and enjoy fireworks which is the best part. May we not forget the sacrifices made for our freedom. May we not forget American troops that laid down their lives for our freedom and also remember Christ who gave His life on the cross for our spiritual freedom. May we especially God's people not forget to pray for our "beautifully broken prodigal" nation to come back to God. The Bible says in 2 Chronicles 7:14 "If My people who are called by My name shall humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways. Then I will hear from heaven and forgive their sin and will heal their land." I believe more than ever before it's critical for us God's people to pray earnestly for our nations protection, for our political leaders, and pray for revival to hit our country. How America will be great again is us being a nation under God. So as well enjoy Independence Day, don't forget those who fought for our freedom, don't forget America's history, and most of all don't forget to pray for our country to get back to God. That's what I wanted to share with you ladies. Blessings, have a blessed week, and happy early Independence Day!

Hi ladies it's me again and happy Lord's day! I hope and pray that each of you ladies and your families are doing well. Well on the last Sunday of June I have some exciting news to share. For those of you that may or may not know I have released a new third book called ''Debrah/Songstress Author & MInister! Unlike my previous books it's a Christian novel this time. I have been longing to release the book for the past two years and now it's here! It's a Christian musical story where this Christian woman, though raised a pk, (Pastor's kid) came from a family lineage of pastors, (her uncles, grandpas and great-grandfathers, and a few cousins were Christians and pastors too similar to Dr King Jr!) and a Christian since childhood, has had to walk through many valleys. What were valleys she had to face? Well she faced valleys of bulimia, infertility, broken off engagement, divorce, and remarriage! Yep that's right she had to endure many things that many of us have to deal with in the real world. Also did I forget to mention she was an associate pastor at two different churches and was a Christian recording artist too? Yep she's a ''fictional Christian celebrity'' inspired by real female Christian artists such as Natalie Grant, Amy Grant, Cece Winans, and even Damita Chandler! (Damita Chandler is a gospel artist who was part of ''Voices Of Unity'' in the mid 1990s until early 2000s who later became a solo artist. She also was formerly married to gospel artist, pastor, and actor Deitrick Haddon from 1996 until they divorced in 2012 and remarried an old friend and divorced photographer Reuben Chandler in 2014. Deitrick remarried to a younger woman named Dominique in 2013. Perhaps I can explain more about that in another blog. ) This story also is a reminder to the audience that you can live a godly life and go through lots of pain. Well we know in the Bible that there were lots of people that endured pain don't we? People like the Apostle Paul, Joseph in the Old Testament, Job, King David, and even our Lord who went through a ton of stuff but they came out on the other side victorious! I know that alot of us Christians know that none of us are immune from difficulty and this Christian novel is just that. I've read Christian novel articles how their biggest complaint is Christian novels aren't realistic. Well not this one! Despite the hills and valleys that Debrah went through it made her a stronger Christian, better minister, better wife, and influencer to her fans as well as her church family too. There are certain things I don't want to give away that you'll have to order on Amazon to get it. I also have a soundtrack for the album too which I can mention that in another blog. In light of ''Pride Month'' I want you ladies to know that infidelity happened in Debrah's first marriage and went through divorce because of that but she later remarried to an old friend and her second marriage was better than her first marriage! Yes that's right I address divorce and remarriage in this novel too something I know that makes Christians uncomfortable. Ladies people in the spotlight go through many challenges as well too and that's addressed here how she did her best to live for God despite the fame. I could go on and on and you'd have to order the book to know more what i"m talking about. That's what I wanted to share with you ladies. Blessings, happy Lord's day, have a blessed week, and order the book on Amazon y'all!

Hi ladies it's me again and happy Tuesday! I hope and pray that each of you ladies and your families are doing well. I'm happy to present another blog called "Tasha Page Lockhart Story". This woman has been thrived in the midst of challenges. Tasha was born in 1983 and grew up a pastor's kid! Wow another pk! Like Fantasia, she sang in church but unlike Fantasia she did commercial jingles at five until fourteen years old from 1988 until 1997! Her mom is Lisa Page Brooks who was married twice but divorced once and is now widowed. Lisa's second husband who passed away's name was Michael Brooks who was part of legendary gospel band called "Commissioned!" (Yes that's right Fred Hammond and Pastor Marvin Sapp were part of that band before being solo artists!) Also her mother was part of former female gospel group called "Witness" for a number of years too before becoming a solo gospel artist! So Tasha grew up a pastor's kid and gospel artists kid! That's a lot of pressure to live up to isn't it? Well Tasha though she grew up a pastor's kid and gospel artists kid there were a number of challenges. She sadly got molested at a young age and when she got to be a teenager she became rebellious. She started dating a number of different guys and started partying a lot. She also played basketball ball in high school but unfortunately due to her promiscuous lifestyle, she got pregnant with her first child! This took place back in 2000 and she was seventeen years old and pregnant with her life out of control. In 2001 she had her son Ronald and graduated from high school. She for a time joined the gospel band "Witness" before leaving the band. She later started working with R&B artists like Mario Winans (that's right he's related to Bebe and Cece Winans as well as Pastor Marvin Winans Sr) and Brandy among others but she dove deeper into alcohol and drugs. But after awhile God got a hold of her and saved and delivered her from that life. She married her first husband Cliff Sr in 2006 and had Cliff Jr in 2008. Several years went by when in 2013 was on gospel singing contest called "Sunday Best" hosted by legendary gospel artist Kirk Franklin and a few gospel artists were judges on that show. She later won the show and got signed to Kirk Franklin's label and in 2014 released her debut album called "Different" and she's been a gospel artist since then! She's experienced challenges being a gospel artist with touring, being compared to her mother, being a good mom, and challenges in her marriage. She's experienced divorce and remarriage as well as public scrutiny but continues to rely on the Lord to give her grace to deal with those things. In addition to her being a gospel artist she's a life coach and has written her biography as well too. God took a pk and gospel artists kid who had a troubled past of sexual abuse and a gal who lived a promiscuous lifestyle to an on fire Christian and gospel artist who lives for Him and sharing her story to help others overcome sexual trauma. Another point I want to make is Tasha is very transparent about her life and I believe as Christians being transparent is very important. She too was a prodigal who came back to the Lord as well. That's what I wanted to share with you ladies. Blessings to each of you ladies and have a blessed week everyone.
