Miriam the Prophetess
Miriam the Prophetess
Hi ladies it's me again and hope y'all are doing well. The next blog I'm sharing with you is Miriam the prophetess, worship leader, and dancer. Miriam as many people know is the older sister of Moses and Aaron in the Bible. Miriam is also the daughter of Jocebed Moses and Aaron's mother. The first time we hear about Miriam is mentioned in the book of Exodus chapter 2 when she was young, she saw her baby brother Moses go down the river and she washed from a distance to make sure he was safe. She also went to the princess Pharaoh's daughter to ask if she could find a nanny to nurse her baby brother! She went to go get her mom Jocebed to nurse baby Moses until he was a toddler and the princess adopted him! Of course we unfortunately know about Miriaam and her brother Aaron complaining at Moses in Numbers 12 and she was struck with leprosy and had to stay outside the camp for a week! But what we often overlook is that Miriam also was a prophetess in fact the first prophetess that ever was! (Long before Deborah and even Huldah!) Miriam is also mentioned in the book of Exodus 15;20,21 she grabbed her tambourine and started dancing and singing before the Lord! (We know Aaron was a high priest and Moses assistant.) Miriam was alot like prophetic dancer and prophetic worship leader in our day! (Dr Pamela Hardy is a prophetic dancer!) That seems common and unusual but as we know many women back then didn't do what she did! Also Miriam spent years as a slave so did her friends, neighbors, and ancestors and she got to see her generation free with the help of Moses and the power of God to the point she couldn't hold back her praise! She was used by God despite she was a woman! I hope that encourages you ladies today to remember your testimony. Remember your life before you got saved! We were once slaves to sin but we're free in Christ! Also God can use you ladies in the prophetic or any other natural or spiritual gift that you have. A woman warrior isn't afraid or ashamed to be used by God is the big idea! That's what I wanted to share with you ladies. Blessings, have a great day,and week in the Lord!
